Ridgeview Respiratory Care offers comprehensive respiratory care and support services for adults and children coping with a variety of respiratory diseases, including asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), bronchitis and pneumonia. Respiratory Care practitioners provide care to the Emergency Department and inpatients of all ages, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pulmonary Function Testing
Outpatient pulmonary function testing, for the diagnosis and evaluation of the progression of respiratory diseases, is available Monday through Friday by physician referral and appointment. Our Staff & Services
Respiratory Care staff work closely with each patient’s physician and other members of the health care team to assist in the assessment of the patient’s respiratory needs and to provide therapy, diagnostic evaluations and education to promote respiratory health. Services include:
- Arterial blood gas analysis
- Pulmonary function testing
- Mechanical ventilatory support
- Respiratory medication administration
- Airway clearance modalities
- Oxygen therapy
- Discharge planning
- Pulmonary testing
Other services include acting as a referral source for any necessary home respiratory medical equipment, smoking cessation referral support and patient education opportunities.
Lungs for Life
This program provides rehabilitation and support services to patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD—emphysema, asthma and bronchitis), restrictive lung disease (pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis) and more. The program is aimed at educating patients and their family members about chronic lung disease and ways to minimize or control the problems that chronic lung disease may cause. A physician referral is needed to participate in Lungs for Life.
