Summer 2015 Construction Information

2015 Road Improvement MapRidgeview patients and visitors: There is construction activity on Highway 5 and the Ridgeview Medical Center campus. Highway 5 access to the hospital and other Ridgeview buildings will remain open throughout the summer 2015 construction period.

Please watch for roadway signage and construction vehicles. If you have a scheduled appointment at Ridgeview, please allow additional time for additional traffic, highway detours and to park your vehicle.

Highway 5 improvement: This project includes the planned signal installation at the Cherry Street intersection and other highway improvements to be completed by November 2015. Ridgeview Professional Building: To meet the growing needs of our patients and communities, construction will begin on a two-story, 40,000-square foot vertical expansion of the Ridgeview Professional Building in July 2015. This addition will be used for clinical use, including new and/or expanded services, and is expected to be done by July 2016. A third building elevator will be added during the expansion, and the existing two elevators will also be upgraded.

Construction update for Aug. 10-25, 2015

  • Planned intersection closure Aug. 10-25: CenterPoint Energy and the City of Waconia will temporarily close the Highway 5 and Cherry Street intersection (pending weather) to complete the relocation process and utility improvements.
  • Traffic detour: Aug. 10-25, traffic will be detoured to Maple Street and routed along Fifth Street to Cherry Street. Please look for signage and plan for potential traffic delays.
  • After Aug. 25, project plans are to have the northern half of the intersection's utility improvements completed, including most of the signal system. Some off-road work may occurr after this date.

 

Parking

Parking for patients and visitors is available on the south side of Ridgeview Medical Center in several designated areas as well as General Parking Lots A and B. All parking at Ridgeview is free. Please be sure to lock your car. If you would like an escort to your vehicle after dark, please call Security at ext. 0.

For your convenience, a volunteer-managed shuttle service is available between the hospital and the parking lots. You can summon and wait for the golf cart shuttle in the covered shelter located between General Parking Lots A and B.
