MyChart Fast Pass

Ridgeview now offers a “fast pass” by which patients scheduling an appointment via MyChart can request to be placed on an online wait list for an earlier appointment.

Overview

  • Fast Pass is a waitlist feature that automatically sends email notifications via MyChart when a waitlist appointment becomes available.
  • Patients must have a MyChart account to use the Fast Pass feature (future updates will also allow for SMS texting to use the Fast Pass feature).
  • When scheduling an appointment through Ridgeview’s MyChart, you can elect to be placed on the wait list for an earlier appointment.
  • If you receive a message, you will be prompted to log into MyChart. If the appointment time works for you, promptly accept the new appointment.
    • The first person to accept the earlier appointment gets the new time.
    • If you are accepted for the new appointment time, your original appointment will be canceled and your new, sooner appointment will be confirmed.

Appointment Criteria

  • The new appointment must move up your appointment by at least one day.
    • The Fast Pass feature does not include “same-day” new appointments.
    • This is available for appointments up to 60 days out.
    • Please note that not all appointments and procedures are eligible for this automated wait list option.

Wait List Notifications

  • Be sure to opt-in and enable notifications under “Communication Preferences” in MyChart so you are alerted of an available appointment in a timely manner.
  • Email notifications of available appointments will be sent from Ridgeview between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Open time slots are offered to all patients on the MyChart waitlist who meet the criteria and are awarded to the first person to accept.

Additional Information

  • Ensure your contact information is current in MyChart.
  • If an appointment is no longer available, the patient will be notified when trying to accept the offer and will remain on the waitlist until another appointment opens up.
  • It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that an earlier appointment is not accepted if there are additional insurance or prior authorization requirements (i.e., being seen too soon for an annual physical, or follow up sooner than requested by a provider)
