Patrick W. Malecha, MD

Patrick Malecha, MD, Palliative Care, provides complex symptom management and support for medical decision making and planning for the future of patients with serious illness.

Dr. Malecha’s approach to patient care is to focus on maximizing quality of life and his goals of care include maximizing as many good days as possible for his patients. He understands that this looks different for each patient and he works together to develop a care plan that fits each patient’s needs.  

For Dr. Malecha, palliative medicine has been the best way he can live up to the reason he became a doctor: to prevent and relieve suffering wherever and whenever possible.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Malecha enjoys running, cooking and baking, watching and playing soccer, and cheering on Minnesota sports teams.
