Matthew E. Herold, MD

Matthew Herold, MD, Ridgeview vice president and chief medical officer, is a board-certified physician in Ridgeview’s Emergency Departments since 2005. Dr. Herold also serves as vice president of his physician practice — Emergency Physicians & Consultants, P.A. — and medical director of Ridgeview’s Emergency Services.

As vice president and chief medical officer, Dr. Herold is committed to advancing and strengthening Ridgeview’s mission and vision. He has a deep level of commitment to do the best for Ridgeview’s patients and community — truly embodying Ridgeview’s culture of kindness, compassion and intuition.

Dr. Herold also serves as a liaison between Ridgeview Administration and all medical staff members to continuously advance relationships and clinical excellence across the system.

Dr. Herold earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.
