Jeffrey Baker, MD, has been committed to providing state-of-the-art care for the obese patient since 2000. Since that time, he has performed over 2500 laparoscopic procedures including Roux en Y gastric bypass, vertical sleeve gastrectomy, banding procedures, endoscopy procedures and revisional bariatric procedures. He remains on the forefront of new and innovative bariatric approaches that best supports the patient before, during and long after surgery to ensure their greatest success in a commitment to health.
"Surgical options and techniques continue to evolve," states Dr. Baker (or Dr. Jeff as many of his patients call him.) "When I began in practice with my Dad, we were using strictly the open technique. Since 2006, Dr. Baker transitioned his practice to the laparoscopic surgical technique and today uses this technique almost exclusively. "Laparoscopic surgery is proven to be less invasive for the patient and allows for a much faster recovery time."
Dr. Baker recognizes that obesity is a complex and multifactorial disease. He understands the importance of supporting each patient not just up to the surgery itself but for years to follow to ensure each patient the greatest opportunity for success. He feels fortunate to be a part of such a life-changing experience and looks forward to seeing every patient back and hearing about their journey. "To be a witness to the dramatic changes people make in their lives - not just physically, but emotionally and psychologically, is truly profound."
