Ridgeview’s two-session Type 2 diabetes virtual education class will provide practical information to help you understand the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes, identify personal barriers, and set goals to make changes, plus learn about community resources for ongoing management of the disease.
Participants will take two classes, running for three hours each session, and will learn the following:
- Learn what Type 2 diabetes is and how it is diagnosed
- How to check your glucose
- Eating for better health
- Monitoring your health
- Set goals for making lifestyle changes
- Understand continuation of care
Each class will be billed separately. You will need to obtain a provider’s referral if you plan to submit to insurance for coverage. Medicare covers 10 hours of diabetes education the first year, and 2 hours every year following. Insurance will be verified and discussed before your class is scheduled. Most insurance companies will cover diabetes education after deductibles and copays are met.
