Job Shadowing at Ridgeview

Job shadowing at Ridgeview allows students and adults to explore a career in health care by observing professionals in a real-world setting. The process begins with choosing where you want to shadow, arranging your visit, completing the shadow experience and concludes with reflecting on your experience.

At Ridgeview, job shadowing is a one-day experience that includes observing a clinical or non-clinical area. If you are looking for a clinical experience, rotation or practicum, please visit our Learning Opportunities page.

If you are interested in participating in a job shadow at Ridgeview, please apply by completing the online application below after confirming you meet Ridgeview’s job shadow requirements.

Once you have completed the application, please allow 5 to 7 business days for someone to contact you. Please apply to one department at a time, listing both your first and second choice. To shadow multiple departments, you must submit a separate application for each.

Whether you’re a student, working professional or current Ridgeview employee, you are invited to participate in a job shadow at Ridgeview to gain insights into a specific role and experience what makes Ridgeview’s culture so special. To get started:

1. Choose one department based on opportunities by Ridgeview location on the job shadow application.

2. Review Ridgeview's Confidentiality and HIPAA information and Immunization History Requirements.

3. Complete and submit your application.

We will contact you to arrange your visit.

Job Shadow Timeline

  1. Interest area: Choose one to two interest areas that you would like to explore.
  2. Application: Confirm that you meet the age and immunization requirements to complete a job shadow and submit your application online.
  3. Schedule: Find a time that works for you and the department you are shadowing. 
  4. Experience: Complete the job shadow.
  5. Reflect: Complete a survey to reflect on your experience following your time shadowing at Ridgeview.
