Ear, Nose and Throat

Otolaryngology is the branch of medicine that deals with disorders and conditions of the ear, nose and throat region and related areas of the head and neck. Ridgeview Specialty Clinic – Otolaryngology provides comprehensive ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialty services to people of all ages. As head and neck surgeons, otolaryngologists are uniquely trained to treat a wide variety of conditions. Many times these conditions can be treated medically or with minor office procedures. Some of the more common conditions treated in the office include:

  • Chronic sinusitis
  • Chronic sore throat
  • Chronic ear/hearing/balance complaints

What is an Otolaryngologist?

An otolaryngologist is a physician who completes at least five years of surgical residency training. This is composed of one year in general surgical training and four years in otorhinolaryngology—head and neck surgery. Following residency training, some otolaryngologists complete an advance sub-specialty fellowship, where training can be one to two years in duration.

New Procedure Offered

Sinuva sinus implant

Ridgeview offers SINUVA sinus implants for adults who have had sinus surgery and suffer from nasal polyps. The implant is designed to treat nasal polyps in patients 18 years or older through the slow release of a corticosteroid over time. SINUVA is made from bioabsorbable polymers designed to soften over time. Ridgeview also offers the Latera implants, which support the nasal valves to improve airflow, and the placement of bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) for patients suffering from hearing loss.
