Telehealth Video Visits
Along with in-clinic appointments, telehealth video visits are available at Ridgeview Clinics. Telehealth visits allow you to have face-to-face interaction with a Ridgeview health care provider from your home or office using a smartphone, tablet or computer.
When is Telehealth an Appropriate Option?
Not all appointments are appropriate for a telehealth visit, so please talk to your Ridgeview scheduler to learn more. Generally, the following types of care are appropriate for a telehealth video visit:
- Common symptoms, not related to COVID-19
- Mild symptoms of COVID-19
- Medicare wellness exams
- Diabetes & hypertension follow-up visits
- Many medication refills or new prescriptions
- Mental health services
Are Video Visits Covered by Insurance?
Telehealth visits are billed and covered in the same way as in-person office visits. It is likely that your insurance company will cover your telehealth visits at the same rate as an office visits. Please contact your insurance company directly to confirm coverage.
How Do I Get Started?
If you choose a telehealth video visit, Ridgeview team members will help you set up your device and prepare you for your upcoming appointment. Please call your primary or specialty care clinic to schedule your visit and get started. Specific instructions will be provided at that time.
