Eaton—A Global Company With Local Heart
“Heart complications are a harsh reality of our world today and just a few minutes can mean the difference between life and death,” explains Scott Krueger, an executive at Eaton Corporation. “Our company is proud to support our employees and the communities where we operate by doing our part to make state-of-the-art cardiac care available quickly and easily.”
Even though it is a global company, Eaton connected with Ridgeview’s mission at a local level when employees who serve on the Community Action Council at Eaton’s Eden Prairie plant set out to do something big.
This committee, chaired by human resources employee Cheryl Bergmann, learned about Ridgeview’s Heart Center through an issue of Foundation Focus. “After reading the newsletter, we knew the cardiology project would be a perfect match for Eaton,” Cheryl said. “It’s rewarding to be a part of this small, grassroots committee that has been able to make such a large impact.”
Thanks to the Community Action Council’s leadership and passion, Eaton gifted $125,000 in support of Ridgeview’s Heart Center. In recognition of Eaton’s support, the Cardiac Ultrasound Stress Test Room will be named in honor of the company.
“Eaton’s generous support of this local health initiative is evidence of the importance and value of providing the highest quality health care at the local level,” said Robert Stevens, president and CEO of Ridgeview. “Because of philanthropy from businesses and organizations like Eaton, residents, commuters and visitors to the west metro area will have access to the best cardiac care available without leaving the community.”
“Eaton’s Eden Prairie campus employs people from a large geographical base surrounding Eden Prairie,” adds Lee Marske, Eden Prairie plant manager. “The new Heart Center will connect our employees, their extended families and the surrounding communities to outstanding health care.”
