Annual Golf & Taste CelebrationJune 22, 2015
More than $1 million was raised at the 30th Annual Ridgeview Foundation Golf & Taste Celebration, held June 22 at Island View Golf Club in Waconia. Proceeds from this year’s event will support the Every Moment Counts campaign, which focuses on raising endowment funds to secure Ridgeview’s future. Nearly $9 million has now been raised in support of Ridgeview since the first Golf & Taste event in 1986.
The 2015 celebration—attended by 220 golfers, 500 guests and nearly 200 volunteers—included golf, a bridge tournament, live music, hors d’oeuvres and beverages from 30 area restaurants and establishments, and a buffet dinner. Additional excitement at this year’s event included a helicopter golf ball drop and a hole-in-one on Hole 16—for which Fred Pawelk, Lester Prairie, won an Arctic Cat Prowler ATV provided by UFC Farm Supply in Waconia.
WCCO-TV anchor Frank Vascellaro served as the event emcee and guest auctioneer during an evening program that included silent and live auctions, and recognition of major sponsors—including presenting sponsor, Security Bank & Trust Co. and the Hoese Family for their lead gift to Ridgeview Foundation.
“Thanks to the significant generosity of so many people, and contributions of our volunteers and community members, our Golf & Taste Celebration continues to directly benefit the people and communities Ridgeview serves,” said Doug Stasek, executive director, Ridgeview Foundation. “We are grateful for the funds—and the friends—raised through this event.”
Ridgeview Foundation promotes philanthropy and builds relationships to support Ridgeview Medical Center’s mission to make a positive difference in the quality of life and health for the west-suburban communities served. A volunteer Board of Directors, whose members represent communities throughout Ridgeview’s service region, guides it.
