More than $1.25 million was raised at the 31st Annual Ridgeview Foundation Golf & Taste Celebration, held June 20 at Island View Golf Club in Waconia. Proceeds from this year’s event will support the renovation and expansion of Ridgeview’s Emergency Department in Waconia through the Foundation’s Lifeline for a Lifetime campaign. Set to begin in early 2017, this Emergency Department expansion will allow Ridgeview’s emergency services to remain as a premier resource in the southwest metro area.

The 2016 celebration included golf, a bridge tournament, live music, and hors d’oeuvres and beverages from area restaurants and establishments. Fox 9 chief meteorologist Ian Leonard served as the emcee for the evening program, which included silent and live auctions, and recognition of major sponsors. A total of 220 golfers participated in the event this year.

More than $10 million has now been raised in support of Ridgeview since the first Golf & Taste event in 1986. “I continue to be amazed by the generosity and the contributions of our community members and volunteers,” said Doug Stasek, executive director, Ridgeview Foundation. “It is amazing to see so many people, from across the southwest metro and beyond, gathered together to support Ridgeview Medical Center and our commitment to health care excellence.”
