About the Health Care Career Scholarship
In response to the shortage of health care workers in 2001, more than $87,000 was raised at the Ridgeview Foundation Golf Extravaganza to create a scholarship program. Including the 2012 award winners, 130 high school students have received scholarships since the program’s inception. The Health Care Scholarship is funded by Ridgeview Friends & Family, Ridgeview’s largest and oldest giving club, through annual donations from community members and Ridgeview employees.
In addition to scholarship awards, Ridgeview also serves as an educational resource as many recipients participate in job shadows and internships offered by Ridgeview during their college careers. To date, nine scholarship recipients have returned to work at Ridgeview Medical Center.
To learn more about the scholarship program and its eligibility requirements, please contact Kelly Schiffman, annual fund coordinator, Ridgeview Foundation, at (952) 442-2191, ext. 6373. Applications for the 2013 scholarship will be available to interested students in February 2013.
