Ridgeview President and CEO Mike Phelps was recently recognized by the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) with an MHA Committee Legacy Award for his work with and leadership of MHA’s Policy and Advocacy Committee. Phelps is the immediate past chair and has served on the Policy and Advocacy Committee for several years, working with MHA member hospitals and health systems to advocate on issues that affect the health of Minnesotans – including hospital finance challenges, health care workforce shortages, mental health care services, Medicaid in Minnesota, the 340B Drug Pricing Program and more.

The sole recipient of the Legacy Award, Phelps was one of 60 hospital and health system teams and individuals from across the state recognized for their work to strengthen patient care, communicate with patients and their communities, and support Minnesota’s health care workforce. The awards were presented during MHA’s 2026 Spring Innovation Forum.

“Across Minnesota, hospitals and health systems are finding innovative ways to improve care, strengthen the workforce, and better serve their communities,” said MHA President and CEO Dr. Rahul Koranne. “At a time when hospitals and health systems are navigating significant uncertainty, these awards highlight the dedication, creativity, and collaboration happening every day in health care organizations across our state.”
