Ridgeview names Matthew Herold, MD, as Chief Clinical Officer

Ridgeview has announced the promotion of Matthew Herold, MD, Chief Medical Officer, to Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) at Ridgeview.

A board-certified practicing physician with Emergency Physicians & Consultants, P.A. (EMPAC) in Ridgeview’s Emergency Departments since 2005, Dr. Herold has served as Chief Medical Officer since 2023. In his new role as Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Herold is responsible for executive oversight of Ridgeview’s physician and provider practices as well as its ambulatory operations. He will also continue to serve as a liaison between Ridgeview Administration and all medical staff members to continue advancing relationships and clinical excellence across the system to achieve Ridgeview’s mission and vision.

Over the years, he held several positions within EMPAC, including serving as Vice President and Medical Director. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Herold also was an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team and the Hospital Emergency Operations Center (HEOC), helping guide Ridgeview through unprecedented challenges.

Dr. Herold received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.
