Ridgeview Le Sueur Campus Recertified as Acute Stroke Ready Hospital
Ridgeview is proud to announce that its Le Sueur hospital campus has been recertified as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), recognizing the hospital's continued ability to rapidly evaluate, stabilize and provide emergency treatment for patients experiencing stroke symptoms. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and one of the leading causes of disability in Minnesota, and patient outcomes improve when they can get to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.
The recertification follows a comprehensive site visit and review process conducted through Minnesota’s Stroke System of Care. During the assessment, MDH reviewers evaluated the hospital’s stroke program, emergency response procedures, performance improvement efforts, staff education and training, imaging and laboratory capabilities, transfer protocols and multidisciplinary collaboration.
The Acute Stroke Ready Hospital designation recognizes hospitals that have the protocols, training and resources necessary to quickly identify and treat stroke patients and coordinate care when advanced treatment is needed. Rapid intervention can significantly improve outcomes and reduce the long-term effects of stroke.
Each of Ridgeview’s four hospital campuses in Arlington, Chaska, Le Sueur and Waconia are certified as Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals by MDH. This important designation demonstrates the organization’s commitment to providing rapid, evidence-based stroke care throughout all communities it serves.
