Portrait of Patrick Malecha, MD

Patrick Malecha, MD, is now seeing patients at Ridgeview Waconia Campus for both inpatient and outpatient palliative care services. Dr. Malecha offers complex symptom management and support for medical decision making and planning for the future of patients with serious illness. He supports patients through a range of conditions, including oncology diagnoses and cancer pain, advanced lung disease, serious heart conditions, emotional distress from serious illness, advanced care planning and much more.

Dr. Malecha’s approach to patient care is to focus on quality of life and goals of care include maximizing as many good days as possible for his patients. He understands that this looks different for each patient and works together to develop a care plan that fits each patient’s needs. For Dr. Malecha, palliative medicine has been the best way he can live up to the reason he became a doctor: to prevent and relieve suffering wherever and whenever possible.

Ridgeview’s Palliative Care team supports patients dealing with serious (life-limiting or potentially life-limiting) medical conditions. This multi-disciplinary team works with patients to meet their individual needs and develops a mind, body and spirit plan of care for patients and their loved ones.

Ridgeview’s Palliative Care services are available by provider referral.
