Matthew Herold, MD

Ridgeview Names Matthew Herold, MD, as Chief Clinical Officer

Ridgeview has announced the promotion of Matthew Herold, MD, Chief Medical Officer, to Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) at Ridgeview. A board-certified practicing physician with Emergency Physicians & Consultants, P.A. (EMPAC) in Ridgeview’s Emergency Departments since 2005, Dr. Herold has served as Chief Medical Officer since 2023. In his new role as Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Herold is responsible for executive oversight of Ridgeview’s physician and provider practices as well as its ambulatory operations.

Ridgeview Board of Directors Names Ben Neilsen as new President and CEO

Nielsen to succeed retiring Mike Phelps

Valuing organizational stability and a deep commitment to maintaining Ridgeview’s independence and exceptional culture, the Ridgeview Medical Center Board of Directors announced today that Ben Nielsen has been selected as Ridgeview’s new President and CEO, replacing Mike Phelps who will retire on Jan. 2, 2027.

Ridgeview welcomes Karin Gilkison, MD, to Gastroenterology practice

Karin Gilkison, MD, Gastroenterology, is now seeing patients in Chaska and Waconia. Dr. Gilkison is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Her special medical interests include colon cancer prevention, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, liver disease and swallowing disorders.
