Two Ridgeview Medical Center nurses recognized as Outstanding Nurses

Waconia, Minn.—July 24, 2012—Two nurses from Ridgeview Medical Center are among the top 20 winners in Mpls.St.Paul magazine’s 2012 Outstanding Nursing Awards. Michelle Berg, CNP, Ridgeview Specialty Clinic-Pediatric Integrative Medicine, and Kari Sorenson, RN, Ridgeview Medical Center Neonatal Care Unit, were recognized by the magazine at an event honoring 54 finalists and the winners on July 19. Mary Fritz-Barfnecht, RN, Ridgeview Regional Radiation Oncology, was also among the winners recognized.

Nearly 100 nurses were nominated by doctors, patients and nurses, who go above and beyond in all areas of health care. To be named a finalist, nurses were judged on their approach to professionalism, bedside manner and patient interaction, credentials and experience, and impact on organization.
