National Healthcare Decisions Day set for April 16

Waconia, MN (March 31, 2014)—Ridgeview Medical Center, along with other national, state and community organizations, are leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance health care decision making—an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). As a participating organization, Ridgeview provides information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and health care providers, and execute written advance directives (health care power of attorney and living will) in accordance with Minnesota state laws. These resources are available at www.ridgeviewmedical.org or 952-442-2191, ext. 5735.

Ridgeview offers free informational sessions each month to help people understand the advance care planning process. Upcoming sessions are listed at www.ridgeviewmedical.org/events. Ridgeview also offers a free facilitation service to assist people with this process.
