When to Call Your Doctor, Anticoagulation Clinic and Pharmacy
Call your doctor if you experience the following:
- If you have a serious fall or injury
- If signs of bleeding or clotting occur
- Before you take new medications—over-the-counter or prescription (especially antibiotics)
- When your diet changes significantly (e.g., eating more leafy greens)
- When planning a trip (two weeks before, if possible)
- If you are going to have surgery or dental work (two weeks before, if possible)
- If you become sick with a high fever, vomiting, diarrhea or infection
- If you become pregnant
- If your prescription looks different than you expect or has different directions than you expect, call your pharmacy
