About “Healthy Delano”
Ridgeview Medical Center has been awarded a grant to create a healthy-community pilot project in Delano and, in partnership with Säjai Foundation, formed the Healthy Delano Task Group to help guide the project. The Healthy Delano project will kick off in September 2012 and is focused on linking community organizations to create a supportive environment that helps Delano’s children form healthy habits and to encourage families to eat right, get active and be well.
Families will receive a Healthy Living Playbook to guide them in learning about and participating in activities across the community. Information will be available at several back-to-school events at Delano Elementary School and at Tiger Activity Center, as well as at Ridgeview Delano Clinic Grand Re-Opening event on Sept. 8, from 9 to 11 a.m.
