Ridgeview Foundation Awards Scholarships to Area High School Seniors
6/21/11—Ridgeview Foundation and Ridgeview Medical Center are proud to announce the 2011 recipients of a $1,000 Health Care Career Scholarship.

Larissa Halonen, Delano High School
Kandra Oestreich, Howard Lake/Waverly/Winsted High School
Jenna Weber, Mayer Lutheran High School
Jo Treat, Mound-Westonka High School
Dawn Miller, Waconia High School
Sara Smith, Watertown-Mayer High School
Michael Boe, Sibley East High School
More than $87,000 was raised at the 2001 Ridgeview Foundation Golf Extravaganza to create a scholarship program in response to the shortage of health care workers. With this year’s awards, we have now given 118 scholarships since the program’s inception. Ridgeview becomes an educational resource for many winners; recipients frequently participate in job shadows and internships offered by the Medical Center during their college careers. To date, seven scholarship recipients have come to work at Ridgeview Medical Center. The Health Care Scholarship is funded by Ridgeview Friends & Family, Ridgeview’s largest and oldest giving club, through annual donations from community members and Ridgeview employees.
