MyHealthCompare.com Ranks Ridgeview Medical Center No. 1 in Overall Care

MyHealthCompare.com recently ranked Ridgeview Medical Center No. 1 in overall care among Minnesota hospitals! The ranking is based on 43 measures of medical quality and satisfaction, which are based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS); MyHealthCompare.com consolidates the measures for each hospital, calculates a single “Overall Score” and generates a ranking.

“Our staff strives to provide patients with the highest quality care available, and we’re proud of Ridgeview’s most recent top ranking,” said Robert Stevens, president and CEO of Ridgeview Medical Center.

With a MyHealthCompare.com score of 88.9 percent, Ridgeview is one of only eight Minnesota hospitals that provide above-average health care. The performance average for the 43 Minnesota hospitals included in the overall care analysis is 83.3 percent.

Ridgeview also scored above state and national averages in surgical improvement care, cardiac care, pneumonia care and patient satisfaction.

MyHealthCompare.com is a free Web site that health care consumers can use to compare over 4,500 U.S. hospitals based on the quality of care they deliver and the level of satisfaction that patients experience. While the data used to rank the hospitals is available on the CMS Web site, it can be difficult to use and interpret the information without a health care background. MyHealthCompare strives to make it easier for consumers.
