About Ridgeview
Ridgeview Medical Center is an independent, regional health care network serving the west-metro area. Its network includes the Waconia-based acute care hospital, a multitude of primary and specialty care clinics, emergency services and specialty programs.

Pediatric Integrative Medicine

Prescription medications for ADHD, depression, autism and sleeping disorders have grown to astounding numbers—in some cases up 369 percent! There’s an alternative for children, teens and their families looking for an entirely different option that goes well beyond medication.

In the spring of 2011, Ridgeview opens a new specialty clinic focused on Pediatric Integrative Medicine. Headquartered in the new Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska, the clinic gives children access to the best in complementary and conventional medical therapies. Dedicated to healing and supporting children in mind, body and spirit, the new program creates holistic solutions for kids with chronic illness, acute and chronic pain, complex bio-behavioral problems and emotional challenges.

What Sets Us Apart
The Pediatric Integrative Medicine clinic at Ridgeview is led by nationally recognized integrative medicine expert, Dr. Tim Culbert, a board-certified developmental behavioral pediatrician with extensive training in biofeedback, mind/body medicine, holistic therapies, nutrition and lifestyle approaches. His philosophy of care and dedicated team has created the biggest, most comprehensive program in the United States.

Dr. Culbert is a 20-year advocate of the integrative health care model and passionate about the program’s positive patient outcomes. It’s the reason doctors across the nation and around the world are reaching out with interest, wanting to learn more and how to use it.

There are contributing factors to the imbalance in kids’ lives today: nutritional, environmental, educational, familial, cultural, traumatic and relational. Rather than simply medicate, Dr. Culbert and his team looks deeper with a highly individualized approach by offering care that enhances a child’s natural health and healing process. From general wellness to complex or chronic illness, the family-centered program helps children by giving them the opportunity to be active participants in their own health care. Conventional approaches such as medication, psychotherapy, speech and language therapy are also available as needed.

This is the future of medicine. With less-invasive, high-touch approaches such as massage, relaxation training, acupressure, aromatherapy or nutritional changes, children can reach optimum health with proven methods tailor-made for them. Stress management and wellness options for parents will also be developed.

Ridgeview’s new Pediatric Integrative Medicine clinic Program is a new option for holistic pediatric care … leading the way to healthier, stronger lives.
