About Ridgeview
Ridgeview Medical Center is an independent, regional health care network serving the west-metro area. Its network includes the Waconia-based acute care hospital, a multitude of primary and specialty care clinics, emergency services and specialty programs.

Mike Werner, chair

Mr. Werner received his B.A. in history from the University of Minnesota–Morris and his master’s degree from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities.
Civic Involvement:
Waconia Lions, Chaska Kiwanis, Waconia American Legion, Minnesota Education Association

Mitchell Kilian, vice chair

Occupation:
Director of governmental affairs for the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC)
Educational and Professional Background:
Mr. Kilian is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a B.S. degree in aviation and a minor in management. He holds a Federal Aviation Administration private pilot’s license.

 

As director of governmental affairs for MAC, he coordinates state and federal legislative issues affecting MAC and its system of seven metro-area airports. As a senior MAC staff member, Mr. Kilian assists the executive director in developing policies, procedures and strategies to accomplish organizational goals and objectives. Prior to becoming a director, Mr. Kilian held a variety of positions with MAC, including manager of two local airports.

Since 1996, he has worked as an adjunct faculty instructor for the aviation programs at St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State University Mankato.

 

Sharon McMenamy Cook, secretary

Educational and Professional Background: 
Ms. Cook has a B.S and brings to the Board 20 years of banking experience and 15 years of management experience.
Civic Involvement:
Rotary board member, Western Community Action Network board member, Gillespie Center board chair, City of Independence Park Commissioner, City of Mound Crime Prevention Task Force, Westonka Collaborative

Delbert (Del) Ploen

Delbert (Del) Ploen, treasurer

Board member since 2000

Occupation:
CEO/President, QualiTech, Inc.
Educational and Professional Background:
Mr. Ploen earned his B.S. from Iowa State College and served in the Air Force as a dual-rated pilot/navigator from 1955 to 1958.

Chaska Rotary, Chaska Chamber of Commerce, Chaska Christmas in May board member, School District 112 Steering Committee, Highway 212 Southwest Corridor Transportation Coalition, Northwest Feed Manufacturing Association, National Feed Ingredients Association

“I find it very rewarding to serve on the board of directors of Ridgeview because of the value the hospital provides to the southwest metro community. The quality of the facility, and the dedication of the doctors, staff and volunteers is very special. I feel fortunate to help in any way I can to keep Ridgeview growing and strong for the future.”

 

Maria Glynn

National Retail Accounts Director
Educational and Professional Background:
Ms. Glynn has a B.A. in Quantitative Methods/Computer Science and a B.A. in Voice Performance from the College of St. Thomas.

Civic Involvement:
Chair Golf Classical - St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Advancement Committee member and committee member of various fundraising activities – St. Joseph School

Robert E. Heeter, MD

Occupation:
Orthopaedic surgeon
Educational Background:
Dr. Heeter completed his undergraduate work at Yale University and attended University of Minnesota Medical School. From 1974 to 1976, he served as a major in the U.S. Army.
Civic Involvement:
Member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Hennepin County Medical Society and Minnesota Orthopaedic Society

 

Julie Herman

Board member since 2008

Waconia
Occupation:
Civil engineer by degree, currently running her own company refurbishing homes in addition to selling residential and commercial real estate
Educational and Professional Background:
Ms. Herman holds a masters degree in civil engineering, and has worked in the U.S. Public Health Service in several states. After moving to Minnesota, she worked for the Mayo Clinic on numerous construction projects and predicting and planning for growth.
Civic Involvement:
Waconia Planning Commission, the founding of the Clearwater Middle School PTO, and the Waconia School District Citizen’s Advisory Panel; also active in Faith Lutheran and Meals on Wheels as well as the Ridgeview Foundation Board.

Wayne Hubin

Retired Manufacturing Operations Manager
Educational Background:
Mr. Hubin has more than 35 years of experience in manufacturing and operations management with four manufacturing companies and semiconductor equipment production.

“I consider board directorship with Ridgeview Medical Center to be a privilege and an opportunity to be taken seriously. Ridgeview Medical Center is uniquely positioned in this region for continued expansion and leadership in this trying, but exciting medical world. As part of the Ridgeview Medical Center Board, I endeavor to be a contributing member of this growth-oriented organization.”

 

Jeff Nelson

Vice President of Operations, Rudolph Technologies, a producer of machine inspection equipment for the semi-conductor market.
Educational and Professional Background:
Mr. Nelson received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He has 30 years of management experience in operations, largely in the high-tech world.

“I believe that Ridgeview is one of the cornerstones that makes Waconia a unique and desirable place to live. I hope that in some small way, I can contribute to the continued success of Ridgeview so the hospital and staff thrive long into the future!”
