John Fahey and Mike Shanahan want to be able to help patients in the Cardiac Rehab Program at Ridgeview Medical Center recover. They understand that these patients will face many challenges and obstacles on their road to recovery, and they have found a way to help others; as they face their ultimate physical challenges of the Ironman triathlon, they are asking you to help them by pledging your support to purchase a NuStep T4 recumbent cross trainer which will allow patients to begin to improve their cardiovascular endurance by exercising in a safe, monitored environment.
John and Mike will be testing their minds and bodies for 140.6 continuous miles of swimming, biking and running. As they strive to succeed in their own personal goals, they thought it would be a great opportunity to raise funds for others who are also struggling to meet their goals. That is why they want to help Ridgeview Medical Center by purchasing the NuStep cross trainer for the patients in the Cardiac Rehab Program.
John and Mike have known each other since kindergarten in Norwood Young America and have remained great friends for over 45 years. Together they have seen and experienced many adventures, and together they thought it would be really cool if they both could complete an Ironman triathlon!
A couple of small-town boys who, as they approach 50, thought competing in an Ironman triathlon would be crazy! But helping patients rehabilitate from a cardiovascular issue is the furthest thing from crazy.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
